Lambwolf Collective Subway Pet Carrier review

Everyone has got something they like to collect. Some people collect baseball cards; others prefer coins. I collect pet carriers. I have a collection to marvel at. And when I saw the Subway Pet Carrier at the Lambwolf Collective booth at this year’s Global Pet Expo, I knew I had to have it. But before I could put it into my bag rotation, I had to take it out and give it a Zed-approved review.

We took this show on the road to Woofstock 2024 in order to put it through its paces – here’s the bag breakdown and what we thought of it.

Fast facts:

  • Two different strap sets at two different lengths
  • Built-in poop bag dispenser
  • Seven storages pouches (one made just for your water bottle)
  • Head rest so your pooch can stick his head out
  • Insert features non-slip fabric
  • Removable insert has a hard, flat base, but cushioned on the top for comfort
  • Safety strap to attach to collar or harness
  • Measures 15″ x 8″ and 10″ tall
  • For pets under 18lbs/8kg

Pros:

  • Lightweight design (50% lighter than the average canvas carrier)
  • Made with a water-repellent lightweight canvas material
  • Lots of pockets for your stuff (I used one for my business cards)
  • Variety of strap lengths let you carry by hand or on shoulder
  • Safety harness provides peace of mind that your dog won’t be able to jump out and run away
  • Non-slip fabric ensures your dog won’t slide around on the go
  • Large mesh storage pocket inside the rear end of the carrier is the perfect size for a water bottle
  • Built-in poop bag holder means you’ll always have a bag on hand
  • Sturdy cushioned insert lets your pet stand or lie down in comfort

Cons:

  • Only comes in one color – Camel
  • Because of it’s lighter color, stains/fur may stand out
  • Not machine washable, but you’re able to spot wash stains/marks

The Verdict

One of the fantastic things about having a small dog is having the ability to take them everywhere you go. That’s where a quality carrier comes in. And Zed really wanted to go to Woofstock – but he’s not a big fan of walking or of being underfoot. So into the LambWolf Subway Carrier he went.

Even though it’s made of heavy-duty canvas material, the Subway is super light. Zed was partial to the padded insert as he was carried around in comfort all day. Not a bad way to travel, the lucky bugger.

Overall, this is a terrific carrier to have in your arsenal. It’s light, spacious and has plenty of pockets for your stuff (for dogs and humans). I kept my business cards in one of the pockets and a water bottle in another.
